Regularization of Network Equations

In some cases, over-idealizations can lead to network equations with higher index, whose simulation is very problematic. Therefore, several research groups have developed methods to regularize the differential algebraic equations or to reduce the index to 1. A different approach, developed by us, is to modify the network model in a very simple way by inserting additional resistors such that the underlying network equations have the index 1.
